Romeo's words suggest true love or youthful, rash behavior?

Francheska Hosking 803 May 7,2015

“William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet”. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, a feud between the Montague and Capulet families disrupts the city of Verona and causes tragic results for Romeo and Juliet. Revenge, love, and a secret marriage force the young star crossed lovers to grow up quickly and fate causes them to commit suicide in despair. The conflicts are running themes throughout Shakespeare's play, Romeo and Juliet one of the Bard's most popular romantic tragedies. Throughout this play does Romeo actually mean his true love for Juliet or is it just some youngful rashful love?

In this play Romeo says to Juliet “Plainly know my heart’s dear love is set on the fair daughter of rich capulet”. This sentence shows how Romeo feels about another girl after Rosaline. Second example from the book “With Rosaline? No.I have forgot that name woe.” This line shows how Romeo “Forgot” about Rosaline but still talks about her and she did not love him back as much as Romeo did to her. Thirdly in lines (2.3.9.3) says “Her I love now doth grace for grace and love for love allow the other did not so”. Romeo is asking for peace even though he is in love with a capulet but hopes to work out. Romeo may seem to be in love with another girl to try to forget about Rosaline since he was heartbroken after they were not together anymore.

To conclude, Romeo is in love with Juliet it’s like love at first sight since the first day he saw her he looked into her and said “She is the one”. It may have been a quick way to meet up but it could be possible to teenagers and actually last but for these teenagers end up in a tragic romantic way that is remembered in many ways of how Romeo and Juliet ended up by the end of this play/book.

Fiction Reading Response -

“Someone to love me”, by The Blueford series. According to the book the author wants us to know how the main character impacts other characters in the story, because the main character may have conflict on other of the characters, and secondly how it could really affect others in the book.

In this book “Someone to love me”, the most interesting part of this book is Bobby Wallence wanted Cindy Gibson she was everything Bobby hoped for in a girl, this example showed how Bobby wanted a girl of his dreams. Second example from the text showed how Bobby starts behaving badly towards himself or Cindy, this example showed how Bobby started to lose himself towards the end and could reuin a lot between them. Thirty Bobby as taking action that could turn things to the worst, this example showed how Bobby’s actions could make a bad turn to make things really bad such as drugs, and abusive relationship he has between him and his girlfriend but she won’t realize thats not love what Bobby is doing to her physically.

To conclude this book “Someone to love me”, I care about it because Teen girls should not be treated as badly and be in a abusive relationship they think it might be “love” but it ends up hurting much more than ever before.

Invasion Of the Drones-Upfront Magazine

“Invasion of drones”,by Patricia Smith. Source coming from Upfront Magazine. According to the article Invasion of drones is a new way to deliver hot ready pizza to you in a easier faster and smarter way. The author Patricia wants us to know how it could not be a good idea to start doing this new delivering by shipping it like that in a drone to people, because it could invade your privacy, and your safety.

In this article“Invasion of drones”. The most interesting part of this article is, one example is your privacy an example is a women was sunbathing topless of her backyard and heard a loud toy it was in fact a drone. This example showed how it could ruin your privacy and can’t do things without something in the air looking at you with a camera even if the drone did not mean to. Second example showed how the drone could not be as safe for example it could crash into trees, building etc. This second example showed how the drone could have accidents and it could affect a lot in our world. Thirdly last example the warfare is one more thing people fight or debate about in a bad way. For example the drone could kill people there have been people who have been killed as a target. This last example showed how scary it could be to even go outside to do anything because of this drone that could be dangerous to humans.

To conclude, this article“Invasion of drones”,by Patricia Smith. My reaction to this article is that I don’t think it would be the best idea to deliver a hot fresh ready pizza. It may be smart but for our world the right best choice is to pick up or deliver to your house personal.

Non-Fiction Response

Francheska Hosking ELA/Ms.Warren & Ms.DePalma803Upfront Magazine

"Upfront Magazine",by The New York Times.According to the magazine, The author wants us to know in the section Role Reversal that the murder trail of Oscar Pistorius in south Africa had a shorter life figure .Because it is a shortage life he had.

In this magazine. One of most interesting parts of this article, one example is, Last month, Pistorius was found not guilty of premeditated murder in the shooting of streetlamp, his girlfriend, but guilty of  "culpable homicide."This example showed what he was charged it was manslaughter.Second example in this article "Its a situation that would have been unthinkable a generation ago, before the end of apatheid. This. This second example showed, it could be a judgement of a rich white man, sometimes chiding the white lawyers.Thirdly last example under apatheid, the system of rigid racial segregation in south Africa's legal system. This last example showed how this segregation in Africa affected the system they had.

To conclude,My reaction to this article were that the case itself were a honorific end to what happened to this man and what his girlfriend thought. This could relate to our life for it not to happen again with all this judgement and for us to have the justice to fight for what we would want.

Darkness too visible

Francheska Hosking 803 10/22/14

"Darkness too visible",by Megan Cox Gurdon. Source came from"The Wall Street Journal". According to this article Amy Freeman a 46 year old mother of three went to young adult sections. Amy felt repugnant and hostile. The author wants us to know why Amy feels like about these young adult books.

The author uses her opinion to convince readers that some young adult books should be banned from local book stores. For example in the text it said "Go Ask Alice",Is a diary published anonymously in 1971 "Go ask Alice",Recounts a girls spiral into drug addiction, rape, prostitution and fatal overdose. Megan Gurdon thinks its not appropriate for young teenagers to read because it has these topics to talk about this girl"Alice".The author uses the words like "Dark",meaning that she left empty handed from the book store of how bad influence she thought the books were for her young adult teens.

To Conclude, "Darkness too visible", I learned she could have one side of her opinion right but to be  honest,Megan Cox can find books that are in her interest. These books should not be banned you could find these books anywhere online, apps, etc. A part that chord with me in some way were the lines "Many teenagers do not read young adult books at all", since that really made me think she may not be as correct.

"Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher

Francheska Hosking 803                           Ms.Warren And Ms.Depalma

"Thirteen Reasons Why", by Jay Asher

What if you did not even have a chance to say everything you wanted to say before you died? "Thirteen Reasons Why",by Jay Asher is a book about teenage girl named Hannah Baker, who leaves 13 tapes behind for 13 different people and her secrets are buried with her. In the book "Thirteen Reasons Why". The main character Hannah sends boxes of tapes to her friends that showed how her mixed feelings that started to build up throughout these tapes.

First, Hannah Baker is feeling insecure and worthless. Hannah leaves tapes behind for 13 people and her reasons why she committed suicide. For example the first tape she said "If you're listening to this you're one of the reasons why.” "Hannah meant what she did is what she had to do. When Hannah said all this it was super overwhelming to her class mates that were listening to it. Hannah sent these tapes to show what she really felt inside, since it made it difficult for the people who were listening to hear Hannah speak. It made people sick to their stomachs.

Secondly, Hannah Baker felt empty and unloved. Why? For example there was not that one person to care about anything that Hannah really felt inside. Hannah would want to expect someone to talk to her in her ups and downs. Hannah would not know how to express herself it to her classmates or any friends she may have had. Hannah just kept all her feelings in the whole time,It’s like her feelings were fading back again. Hannah thought it was the best thing to do.

To conclude, the main character Hannah Baker sends a box of tapes to her friends that showed her mixed feelings. How everything started building up, and changed throughout the whole story. Hannah did not want to expect how things could go wrong. Hannah committed suicide for a deep reason that would always be buried with her. Jay Asher were trying to show the readers how these teenaged lives could end and be like Hannah Bakers. This could teach feature teenagers how to deal with it in the right way. Hannah’s way was not the best choice, theres more right better choices for teenagers.
